Message from Top Management

Observing global trends evident since the worldwide recession that began with the financial crisis, we see the "environment" and "quality" as key global concepts.

In these circumstances, I strongly believe that Eagle Industry's basic management policy, "a corporation is the property of three stakeholders―namely, shareholders, employees, and the community" and our notion that rests on that policy, "the environment, quality, and employee safety are the three sanctuaries that corporations must preserve" that we have sustained even through the rough business conditions of the Company, are what meet the demands of the current age. That is why I feel the need to instill this idea fully into the further corners of our Group, even at this time of rapid change. Because our CSR activities are, to me, the path to realizing our basic management policy.

The reason why we have always stressed Quality above all else is that although consumers rarely have the opportunity to see our products, EKK Group's products are used as primary components in a broad array of fields, including the engine peripherals of automobiles and motorcycles, pumps and other household products, aircraft, and industrial machinery. In many of these areas, we maintain an overwhelming global share. In other words, we plan a behind-the-scenes role to sustain the world's social and industrial activities, maintaining and improving the quality of our products is a natural responsibility, for the sake of our business partners and as a company that supports society.

In terms of the environment, our very own sealing technology is, simply put, a technology to prevent fluid leaks. However, we believe that the technology can benefit the world in a variety of industries and as such protect the global environment in an era of increasingly strict regulations. Moreover, the Company contributes not only through its products, but also through management activities such as ongoing operations to improve sustainability, by setting the EKK Group's own "Environmental Objectives and Goals" as reported in our CSR Report. We continue to offer solutions to diversifying and intensifying global environment issues by developing products that play a role in environmental preservation.

The importance of safety needs no explanation. Maintaining the environment and quality can only be done in a safe workplace in which employees are able to work with vigor, and that is one factor we particularly stress in our efforts.

In any age and into the future, the EKK Group must meet the demands of the time and remain a company that justifies the pride of all stakeholders and the affection of local communities. Ultimately, the aspiration of the EKK Group is to be a "good company," and the Group's wish is to continue contributing to a better society.

We view this CSR Report 2010 as a medium to help our stakeholders understand EKK Group's initiatives in environment preservation, quality improvement, and social activities, and we think it is an important means of communication. We would be grateful to receive your frank opinion and comments.
