EKK applied the special coupling originally developed for aircraft gas turbines to general industrial applications. This diaphragm coupling achieves high rigidity for torsion and flexibility for bending and compression due to the special profile process, enabling to transmit high torque. The coupling has achieved a maximum speed of 100,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 2,700KN-m and is regarded highly in many fields as the ideal coupling which features high speed, high load torque transmission, light in weight and no lubrication. In addition, with the flexible axial and angular displacement capability (low bearing load), the coupling is getting indispensable for turbines and compressors which are getting higher in speed and larger in capacity, rotary equipments in steel production machines, ships and aircraft. |
